 Smart Art
Hope's Horizons views creative art as one of the key means of expression for all children, including those on the spectrum.  We utilize a variety of art mediums including painting, drawing, collage, and work with earth clay.  Children are encouraged to freely explore each medium, with support and guidance from a mentor.  We also focus on give and take relationships, fine motor development, and language skills.

Literacy Learners
We utilize Handwriting Without Tears for our focused intervention on literacy and fine motor development.  This program was designed by occupational therapists and works well for children on the spectrum as each lesson is ordered and predictable.  Multi-sensory methods including songs, puppets, and hands-on letter formation materials ensure that each child's learning style is addressed.

Math Masters
Our math program utilizes Hands On Learning Standards for Math, with differing levels for children ages 3-12.  Children use a large variety of math manipulatives to explore various math concepts including numerical awareness, geometry, pre-algebretic thinking, measurement skills, and more.

Super Science
We use Hands on Standards for Science as the basis for our science curriculum.  Children are exposed to inquiry based activities, physical science, life science, and earth and space science as they develop nine key developmental skills: Observing, Communicating, Estimating and Measuring, Classifying, Making Operational Definitions, Inferring, Predicting, Making and Using Models, and Investigating.
